The Xiaomi Mi Box S has received a number of updates ever since it was including a major system update that upgraded the version of Android to Android 9. It came along with a number of features and enhancements to the TV box despite being buggy at best and breaking a number of features, some were rendered unusable. Xiaomi was quick to release System updates to fix these issues.
The latest update continues to fix these issues as is a norm with enhancements that come with newer system updates. Complaints that some users had included 5Ghz instability issues, connection to other gadgets, and Bluetooth peripherals that users couldn’t connect to in some circumstances. The latest update that comes in at 654 MB fixes 3 major issues that should make your device stable. The three fixes on the Mi Box S are:
- Voice Assistant stops working when an external keyboard is connected
- 5G Wi-Fi issues
- AV Sync issue when connected to Bluetooth speakers.
It is highly recommended that you update your device to fix these issues. I have already updated mine and it is more stable than ever. If you haven’t received the update notification, feel free to go under Settings -> Device Preference -> About -> System Update then check for update. You will be upgrading from build number PI.2604 to or earlier versions to PI.2696 release -keys.
