iMessage is Apple’s messaging system across supported devices like iPhones, MacBooks, iPads, and more and needs to be activated when it gets deactivated. iMessage works on Apple devices only.
Your messages will turn green if iMessage is deactivated. This can happen when you change your SIM card, after resetting your iPhone, when your iPhone loses connection to your SIM card, or at random times in some situations. Enable iMessage by following the instructions below. Also, activate FaceTime on iPhone.
This is how you can activate iMessage on iPhones.
How to Activate iMessage
- Go to Settings on your iPhone.
- Go to the Messages section on settings.
- Enable iMessage by toggling the button. Select the Send & Receive number, this is your phone number or phone number.
Give it up to 24 hours for the iMessage functionality to be enabled.
The iMessage setup method above works when you are setting up iMessage for the first time or when you are no longer in a position to receive iMessages.
You may also want to set up iMessage when remove or change SIM card from your iPhone.
You can reset iMessages this way too.
