Once in a while, we watch movies to pass time or to just get entertained especially at a time when we’re indoors 90 % of the time. Netflix, Disney+, HBO Max, Apple TV+, and many others are some of the premium services out there and offer leading movies and series. This however comes with a cost in some form of a monthly subscription or purchasing a specific movie. Many people see this as a steep barrier for entry and would like free but perfectly legal ways to be entertained. As much as these movies are free to watch, costs that went into production have to be met in some way. Advertisement is a popular way in which the free services are supported. Ads come packaged with some of the movies you will watch on the platforms.
Here are some platforms where you can watch movies completely free and still perfectly legal.
IMDb TV
IMDb TV is a new completely free streaming platform. TIt offers free popular TV shows and movies for you to binge-watch. iOS and Android apps are available though you can also watch the movies on your browser. IMDb TV is the best latform so far for watching free movies.

Tubi
Tubi is one of my favorite platforms to watch and IMDb TV only comes close to it. They claim fewer Ads than cable TV on their Home Page, fewer is of course relative. Tubi is available for free on Android, iOS, Roku, Apple TV, Amazon Fire TV, Xfinity X1, Xbox, Samsung Smart TVs, Sony Smart TVs, PlayStation, and the web.

Redbox Free Live TV
Redbox Free Live TV just like IMDb TV is a new platform for movies and TV shows. It uses a traditional TV approach. It has a number of channels that all stream live TV. Here you’ll find news, comedy shows, and a number of TV series like Forensic Files, Family Feud, and Unsolved Mysteries among many others.
Crackle
Crackle is a platform that has been around for a long time and that means you will find a wide catalog to choose from. As much as you may find movies that you may have never heard of, there are quite popular ones like 3rd Rock From the Sun available for free for you to watch. Every episode.
Hoopla
Hoopla is available as long as you have a library card and your library participates. There is a sizeable catalog on the platform and the apps allow you to download for offline viewing or when you travel. One downside is that it works like a library as you have a certain amount of time to watch before you return it.
Kanopy
Just like Hoopla, you will need a library card to access movies on this platform. Some student IDs are also accessed the huge library of content. This is great for students trying to access the huge catalog of content available on the platform for free. If you do not have a library card, this may be a reason to get it. Apps are available on major platforms Android, iOS, Roku, Apple TV, Fire TV and many more
Plex
Yes, this platform has a sizeable catalog to stream movies, other than people using it as a media server to stream illegally acquired movies. It is worth checking out!
Amazon Prime Video is an option but this needs you to be subscribed to Amazon prime to get this. it is however worth utilizing their free 30-day trial period.
Netflix despite being a subscription has a free promotional program that could be accessed via this page https://www.netflix.com/watch-free/ but it seems it has been taken down. Check it out. It could be accessible in your region.
As with free streaming services, you will likely never find new releases, trending movies, and TV shows. If you search hard enough especially on IMDb TV and Tubi, you will not miss finding good free movies to watch.
