Sometimes last year, Facebook was testing a lite version of its official app on Android devices in developing countries. That seems to have gone well and now it is official. There is a Facebook Lite.
As its name suggest, its a version of Facebook that is less than 1MB Currently available in Asia soon to be in Africa and parts of Latin America. No word on its availability in developed countries like America and the likes.
The present application on its own as we all know clogs up memory and even not that usable on lower end devices. The app is slow and keeps crushing when you try using it . When it comes to data, it consumes your bandwidth and results in a lot of unnecessary bills at the end of the month. Facebook Lite tries to solve this while keeping the experience when browsing through the world’s biggest social network.
