Access Point Names (APN) are required for Bell network so you can access the internet via their 4G/LTE or 3G/HSPDA. APN settings contain the appropriate gateway setting for the service provider to connect you to the internet. APNs are unique to service providers and Bell isn’t an exception. Once you have the settings configured and you have Bell data plan and within their coverage, you can connect to the internet.
Bell APN Internet Settings for iPhone
If you have an iPhone with Bell SIM card, go to Settings > Mobile Data > Mobile Data Network then configure the settings below.
- APN: pda.bell.ca
- Username: (Leave blank)
- Password: (Leave blank)
Restart your iPhone if you are not connected to the internet automatically when you have a data plan. To reset your APN settings on your iPhone, go to Settings > Mobile Data > Mobile Data Network > Reset Settings then add the APN settings as above. You can also easily access SIM applications.
Bell Canada APN Internet Settings for Android Devices
To set APN internet settings for Android smartphones, tablets, and other devices, go under settings then locate Access Point Name then add them as below. Different versions of Android and manufacturers will have this location in a slightly different place but you will generally find it under wireless networks. Settings > Mobile Data > Access Point Name then add the settings below then use:
- Name: Bell Mobility
- APN: pda.bell.ca
- Username: (Not set – Leave it blank)
- Password: (Not set – Leave it blank)
- Proxy: web.wireless.bell.ca
- Port: 80
- Server: (leave it blank )
- MMSC: ( Leave it blank )
- Multimedia Message proxy: (leave blank)
- Multimedia message port: (Not Set)
- MCC: 302
- MNC: 610
- Authentication type: (none)
- APN type: (default,supl)
- APN protocol: (IPv4)
- Bearer: (Unspecified)
- Mobile virtual network operator: (none )
Save then use the newly added Access Point Names, Bell Mobility. Restart your phone if you are not automatically connected to the internet assuming you already have a data plan. Set your preferred network to GSM/HSDPA/LTE so your device can automatically connect to the available network.
