Motorola over a week ago unleashed the latest in its near stock Android Smartphones. I have already reviewed the Moto G Third Gen , which you can read it here, and its now time to Moto X. To start with, there are three versions of this. Moto X Style, Moto X Pure and Moto X Play. Moto X Style is a carrier specific version in the US only, Moto X pure is a version that is not carrier specific but the sane as the style and Moto X Play is a totally different phone, spec-wise.
If you take Nexus 6 and last years Moto X, Marry them together, have a baby and attach a piece of metal at the back and you have Moto X Style or Pure. That is simply it. But first here are the specs;
-Quad HD 5.7 inch LCD display a resolution 2560 ×1440
-3GB RAM With internal memory of 64GB with a micro SD card slot to 128 GB
-Hexacore snapdragon 808 chip With Adreno 430 GPU.
-Improved 21megapixel camera as Motorola would like us to believe with 5 megapixel front with a front flash.
-300 mAh battery with super fast quick charging. Can last 10 hours of charge when only plugged in for 15 minutes
-NFC (Near Field Communication )
-Blutooth 4.1
-802.11 ac wifi
-Android 5.1.1 Lollipop. Near stock with Motorola’s own additions Moto assist, Moto Action and Moto Essentials .
– Stereo front facing speaker.
Moto X Play on the other hand is nearly similar to their other brother in design except the toned down specs. They are as below. The specs are the same except the specifications below.
-5.5 inch 1920 ×1080 display
-2 GB RAM with 16/ 32GB on board ROM
-A huge 3630 mAh battery (Bigger than Moto X style and Pure )
-Snapdragon 615 clocked at 1.7 GHZ
Of-course you can change the color and material at the back and that metal strip at the back using moto maker.
Starting at only $399, it is probably the best deal you can get once it is out for sale as per now. It will be out come September. Remember Moto X play will be $100 cheaper
